SATA Air Açores Handling Department

Our path to certification assistance for passengers, baggage, freight and mail service began in 2004 when SATA Group’s management team implemented a strategy called the SATA Air Açores Quality System in Land Operations. This crucial effort was led by a multidisciplinary team that outlined our key operating and support processes, including internal areas of check- in, boarding and disembarkation, export and import cargo and mail audits, services on board aircraft, dealing with irregularities and monitoring systems for process performance and rigorous monitoring of internal services. All this became supported by a strong base in operational safety (safety and security) with a socially responsible attitude, and respect for the environment and local culture. In 2008 Handling was recognized for excellence in service by the Portuguese Certification Association APCER, and was awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Certificate and a 2008/CEP.3341 IQNet Certificate - International Network Certification.

 

The policy of Quality and Safety (Security and Safety) Operations Handling of SATA Air Açores is based on the following principles:

The Handling Department is focused on the eight principles that underpin our ISO 9001:2008 certification, with the objective of continuously improving the organization's performance. If quality, commitment and professionalism have always been a standard practice of Direction Handling, certification proves the accuracy of service in ground handling, and warranty still serving all airlines, domestic and foreign companies that hire the service of handling SATA Air Azores.

 

The SATA Air Açores Handling Department works in accordance with NP EN ISO 9001:2008 international standards and ISAGO best practices; SATA Air Açores undertakes to maintain the Integrated Environmental Policy of safety and wellness at work, in accordance with the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 and EN ISO 14001:2004 -working with employees and management to meet the objectives of SATA.
